This social media promotional video for Fitness First Singapore captures the transformative power of fitness motivation. The narrative follows a relatable male protagonist leading a sedentary lifestyle, characterized by aimless scrolling and low energy. A pivotal moment occurs when he encounters an inspiring gym video on his phone, igniting a desire for change. The visual tone shifts from dim and sluggish to bright and dynamic as he takes action, joins the gym, and revitalizes his life.
The video concludes with uplifting scenes of him confidently working out, embodying the message: “Find Your Spark.” This project effectively showcases the gym’s services and encourages viewers to embark on their own fitness journeys.
FINAL DRAFT - DIRECTOR'S CUT
This project was driven by the desire to create a powerful, relatable narrative that captures how motivation can spark real-life transformation. I wanted the story to resonate with people stuck in stagnant routines, showing how one inspiring moment could lead to meaningful change. From pre-production to shoot day, I handled casting, talent and crew management, coordination with the creative agency Plus Sixty Five, and all administrative and finance matters.
A key collaborator was my good friend and fellow RMIT Communication Design classmate, Naufal Azman — an incredibly talented videographer and editor whose creative lens brought this vision to life. Naufal (@naufworks, naufworks.com) led the cinematography and post-production. His intuitive eye and technical finesse elevated the energy shifts, from the protagonist’s dull, inactive life to his revitalised, gym-fuelled momentum.
Together, we crafted a visual language that blended shot styling, lighting and music to express emotional transitions effectively. Despite working with limited resources, we aimed for high production value and a clear, motivating message. The final video captures not just a fitness journey, but the courage it takes to begin. “Find Your Spark” is more than a tagline — it’s a call to action, artfully told through collaboration and story.
